Machinal

Cape Fear Community College's theatre department presents Machinal by Sophie Treadwell in the Wilson Center Studio Theatre. The 1920s expressionist play, inspired by the trial of Ruth Snyder, follows a Young Woman through her career, family life, marriage and childbirth as she struggles for autonomy, and looks at how an industrial, capitalist society can push people toward self-destruction. The play runs Nov 12-14 and 19-21. Every performance is at 7 PM, with doors at 6:30 PM. Some scenes may be disturbing to some viewers.
